Despite the election campaign, the Government has responsibilities towards the society and the people, which must be fulfilled, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said in the opening of the November 7 meeting of the Cabinet, thanking the suspended ministers for finding time to come to the meeting in order to ensure the quorum needed for examining the items from the agenda, IPN reports.
“Regretfully, the colleagues from the Liberal Reformist Party decided not to attend the meetings of the Government until we do not include the dismissal of two deputy ministers in the agenda. We asked arguments in favor of the dismissal from them, but haven’t been yet provided with them. Therefore, we will not add this issue to the agenda,” stated the Premier.
Iurie Leanca also said that some of the agency heads risk being dismissed for using administrative resources in the election campaign. “Nobody prevents them from campaigning, but they should go on leave first and use their personal cars in this political campaign,” he stated.
Ministers Natalia Gherman, Vasile Botnari and Pavel Filip, who left their posts earlier in order to become involved in the campaign, were withdrawn from the lists of candidates for MP at the request of the parties of which they form part so that they can take part in the Cabinet’s meeting.
