The first deputy chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the PLDM has only one candidate for the post of Premier – the party’s head Vlad Filat. In a press beefing on March 6, the Liberal-Democrat announced that the National Political Council of the PLDM will hold a meeting on March 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. Iurie Leanca said that Vlad Filat showed he has the abilities needed to be head of Government and the PLDM doesn’t intend to propose another candidate. “Those who say that I am suitable for this position should better create a club of Iurie Leanca’s fans. It’s a joke. I already stated the party’s position,” he said. As to the vote of no confidence given to the Government on March 5, Iurie Leanca said that those who voted for the censure motion must understand that they compromise the country’s future. He informed that he was phoned by European ministers, who expressed their concerns about the political situation in Moldova.
