The decision about the political behavior of the European People’s Party of Moldova on the last 100 meters of the election campaign will be made public on October 27, the party’s candidate for President Iurie Leanca said following the Democratic candidate Marian Lupu’s announcement of his withdrawal from the presidential race, IPN reports.
“Marian Lupu’s decision took us by surprise because it changed a number of elements in the political sphere of the Republic of Moldova and brought new elements. Thus, after a debate with my colleagues, we reached the conclusion that we need more time to come to a decision,” stated Iurie Leanca.
He noted that they will analyze the possible consequences and will then take a well-thought-out decision.
Before Iurie Leanca made this announcement, some of the media outlets reported that Iurie Leanca will also withdraw from the race for the presidency, as the Democratic leader Marian Lupu did.
