ITF Juniors “Moldova Open 2017” learns winners

The ITF Juniors “Moldova Open 2017” tournament brought together about 120 tennis players from 20 countries. Russia’s Timofei Skatov emerged victorious in the men’s singles after winning against his compatriot Nikolay Vylegzhanin 6:4 4:6 7:5, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Youth and Sport.

Also, Timofei Skatov together with Tomas Machac of the Czech Republic won the men’s doubles. The two defeated the Dutch pair Jesper De Jong – Ryan Nijboer 6:4 4:6 (11:9) towards the end of the competition.

The women’s singles were won by British player Eliz Maloney, who beat Daria Frayman of Russia 6:2 7:5. The winners in the women’s doubles became known after the Russian pair Nina and Valeriya Olyanovskaia withdrew from the competition. These are Oleksandra Andrieieva and Yulia Starodubtsewa of Ukraine.

The competition staged by the Tennis Federation of the Republic of Moldova with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sport took place on the recently renovated tennis courts of the Specialized Tennis Sports School.
