Students of the Moldova Free International University (ULIM) will be able to know more about the Italian history, people and culture and to study the Italian language in the Italy Lecture Room that was opened on November 30. On this occasion, a recital of Italian poems and songs was staged in the newly inaugurated lecture room, IPN reports.

ULIM first vice rector Ana Gutu said that Italy’s history is very rich. “It is rich and can furnish us with many examples worth being followed and can teach us how to better cultivate ideals,” she stated.

Attending the event, Italy’s Ambassador in Chisinau Enrico Nunziata highly appreciated the cooperation between the Embassy and ULIM. He said that the Embassy acts like a bridge between the young Bachelors and the Italian business sector and the young people should express interest and have knowledge, including about Italy.

Within the event, the diplomat gave a public lecture on the contemporaneousness of Dante Alighieri, who is considered one of the most important European writers of the Middle Ages. There was mounted a valuable exhibition of reproductions of Italian paintings inspired by Alighieri’s works, which will continue until December 14.

The Moldova Free International University includes lecture rooms of over 30 states.
