Italy and Lithuania will continue to support Moldova in its European integration efforts, the ambassadors of the two states assured in meetings with Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici on March 5, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, in the discussions with Italy’s Ambassador Enrico Nunziata, the Premier underlined the special character of the Moldovan-Italian relations, appreciating Italy’s involvement in developing the investment sector of Moldova. “Our relations became firmer in time. We welcome the presence of Italian businessmen and their contribution to the growth of our economy. We consider they will serve as a good example for the investors from other European states,” said Chiril Gaburici.

The ambassador assured the Premier of Italy’s firm support for Moldova in continuing on its path of European integration. “Italy is interested in developing relations with Moldova in the entrepreneurial, banking and information technology sectors,” stated Enrico Nunziata.

In the meeting with Lithuania’s Ambassador Rimantas Latakas, Chiril Gaburici noted that the priorities of the Moldovan Government are to ensure the European integration, to accelerate the reforms and to fight corruption. “Lithuania’s experience is very valuable to Moldova and we have yet a lot to learn from your country,” he stated.
