Traditional Italian products and dishes, pizza, cheese, oil, coffee, spaghetti, etc., can be tasted for free today, November 23, at MollDova Shopping Center. The action is organized by the Embassy of Italy in the Republic of Moldova and ends the activities dedicated to Italian Cuisine Week in the World, IPN reports.

Paolo Balbi is an Italian chef and has been working in the Republic of Moldova for five years. The chef says that he has chosen to make snacks with extra virgin olive oil today, because Moldovans have come to appreciate this type of oil and he wants to convince more people of its benefits.

Alexandru Comerzan is responsible for cheese production at a dairy company. Today he showed how to make mozzarella. The man has lived in Italy for 14 years and has had the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs. "Mozzarella is the cheese that perfectly represents Italy," said Alexandru Comerzan.

The Italian ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Valeria Biagiotti, stated at the opening of the event that the Week of Italian Cuisine in the Republic of Moldova was organized for the fourth consecutive year. This year, Italian cuisine was promoted at over a thousand events around the world. The initiative also aims to promote a healthy diet, the Mediterranean diet, which has been recognized by UNESCO as world heritage and which makes Italy one of the healthiest countries, with high life expectancy, in the world.

During the event at Shopping MollDova pizza will be prepared and distributed to visitors the whole day. Also, a masterclass for the preparation of Italian coffee is being held. As for children, there are organized competitions for the preparation of Italian dishes.
