Italy will offer support to Moldova in the justice sector reform, Italian Ambassador in Chisinau Enrico Nunziata announced in a meeting with Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Justice, the ambassador said the Italian authorities are ready to offer expert advice to the Moldovan side in the justice sector reform, noting their rich experience in money laundering, organized crime and mafia in the Apennine Peninsula. Enrico Nunziata also accepted to sign a memorandum of cooperation in the given area.
The diplomat suggested organizing fact-finding visits for experts from the Ministry of Justice and the cooperating institutions such as the Prosecutor General’s Office, the National Anticorruption Center and the Supreme Court of Justice.
Vladimir Cebotari said the common actions and projects of Italy and Moldova will help the Moldovan community in Italy as well. When particular incidents involving the diaspora happen, a swift response will be possible to deal with these. Moldova’s intention is to simplify the processes in justice by digitizing them.
