An Italian businessman was found dead in the Chisinau apartment where he lived. According to the Ministry of the Interior, the 69-year-old man was robbed and electrocuted with an electroshock device. As he suffered from heart problems, he didn’t survive, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The man was discovered by an employee of the company where he worked. The medical examiners established that he died as a result of a heart attack. During the on-the-spot examinations, the police established that it was a robbery and started a criminal case. Recently, the police identified and detained the main suspects. They are three men aged between 20 and 34 from Chisinau municipality and Cimislia district. They had been earlier tried for similar offenses.
It was ascertained that the young men entered the Italian’s apartment through the window and surprised the victim working on the computer. They put a pillow on his face, threatening him they will asphyxiate him if he didn’t tell them where he hid the money. The man didn’t answer their questions and thus they electrocuted him with an electroshock device and punched him. The suspects abandoned the man, taking with them the computer, a camera, two mobile phones, alcoholic beverages, and money.
The three are now investigated for robbery. The police are collecting proofs to start a criminal case for accidental murder.
