“It is very important for the electoral process that starts in the Republic of Moldova and that will end with elections and then with the formation of a majority and a Government to be extremely transparent. It is a message transmitted by us and also by all the partners of the Republic of Moldova,” IPN quoted Poland’s Ambassador in Chisinau Bartlomiej Zdaniuk as saying in the talk show “Emphasis on today” on TVR Moldova channel.

The ambassador noted that Poland, since the Republic of Moldova declared its independence, has been a reliable friend and always had good and sincere discussions. These are also continued through the agency of ambassadors, who are permanently in contact with all the partners in Moldova – those of the parliamentary majority, the Government, the opposition, the President and others.

Bartlomiej Zdaniu stated that the politicians, regardless of the parties of which they form part, should understand that a prosperous country is in their interests, in the interests of the political class as this way the country will be stronger both at domestic and at international levels. In such conditions, the politicians will stand to gain from this development.

In another development, the ambassador said that in a prosperous society, the entrepreneurial spirit counts as this is an important factor and it happened so in the case of Poland. This change in the country should come from the community, from each citizen as the population should not wait for the authorities to do it. In Poland, the small and medium-sized enterprises represented an important pillar. “To give you a figure, almost 2/3 of the Gross Domestic Product of Poland are generated by small and medium-sized firms. Surely, a part of them after 20-30 years become large firms,” noted the diplomat.

According to him, the key to success comes from the people who want to change something and in a lot of cases it goes to simple things. The persons should show initiative and should not be hampered. Bartlomiej Zdaniu said that every time he goes to localities and knows people there, he sees how willing these are to do something good for their community and Poland, through the agency of its projects and programs, make effort to support them, but they should be helped more.

As regards the commercial relationship between the Republic of Moldova and Poland, the ambassador said trade between the two states amounts to about €300 million. Of this sum, about 2/3 are Pound’s exports to Moldova and 1/3 are Moldova’s exports to Poland. The wine products are the most popular Moldovan products imported by Poland.
