It is too early to speak about winners of presidential race, Mihai Ghimpu

Acting President Mihai Ghimpu, the chairman of the Liberal Party, said the polls show the Liberal-Democrat leader Vlad Filat and the Democrat leader Marian Lupu as leading contenders for the post of President because not all the candidates are yet known. In an interview for the Romanian portal Hotnews.ro on August 13, Ghimpu said that though the leaders of the governing alliance agreed how to distribute the senior state posts, the prospect of elections makes more candidates to appear, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The surveys will be truthful when all the candidates are known,” Mihai Ghimpu stressed. He said the politicians should now focus on the successful organization of the September 5 constitutional referendum. Only three party leaders have so far announced they will run for President. These are the PDM leader Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vlad Filat, and the chairman of the Humanist Party Valeriu Pasat.
