There is sleet and snow in some parts of northern and central Moldova. The General Police Inspectorate said that, due to the unfavorable weather conditions, heavy trucks got stuck on the R-20 Orhei-Rezina road, km 32, IPN reports.
The Inspectorate also said that on the M1 route, km 40-60, between Bursuc village of Nisporeni district and Capriana village of Straseni district, vehicles move with difficultly. “We recommend the drivers to adopt a prudent driving manner and constantly adjust their speed to the road and traffic conditions,” says a press release of the institution.
The State Road Administration said that in some parts the snowfall is even heavy. Currently, there are no impassable national public roads and the vehicles travel in winter conditions. “Road workers were mobilized and engaged in snow removal and anti-skid material spreading works on national public roads. More specifically, the local units of SA “Drumuri” intervene in the sectors Briceni, Soroca, Soldanesti, Floresti, Sanatauca, Rezina, Calarasi, Ungheni, Straseni and others,” the institution noted.
According to the State Weather Service, the unstable weather is due to an atmospheric front that is crossing the country.
