{Repeat from January 3} Ukraine’s Ambassador to Moldova Serhii Pyrozhkov considers the discussions about the modification of the format of the peacekeeping mission in the Security Zone in Transnistria are not timely and cannot be held in the context of the January 1 tragedy.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the diplomat said this subject can be discussed only at political level. “Such discussions can take place at the talks in the 5+2 format in which Ukraine will take part I think,” said Serhii Pyrozhkov.
He also said that a special commission was set up within the Joint Control Commission. It includes representatives of Ukraine who are working to determine all the circumstances of the incident. Afterward, the commission will put forward proposals as regards the presence of the peacekeeping forces in the zone. “Until the results of the investigation are announced, we will make no other statements,” said the ambassador
Serhii Pyrozhkov stated Ukraine offers its condolences to the family of Vadim Pisari, who was shot mortally by a Russian officer of a peacekeeping post set up near Vadul lui Voda town.
