Transparency International Moldova director Liliana Carasciuc said we now witness not only a post-electoral crisis, but a much more profound crisis. According to her, the Party of Socialists and the Bloc ACUM put forward by a set of proposals that apparently none of them is interested in supporting. The subject was discussed in the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.
“I’ve got the impression that the Bloc ACUM was afraid to allow the Socialists to come to power as they would have been accused by the population and the donors of this. The PSRM was afraid that by supporting all the electoral projects of the PDM, which made big promises without having financial resources, it will have to find money and will not find this money without the Bloc ACUM,” stated Liliana Carasciuc.
Journalist Alexandru Cozer said only Igor Dodon has lately spoken in the name of the Socialists and this is a problem to his mind. “When a parliamentary group with 35 members not only declines the invitations to discussions issued by colleagues from Parliament, but also simply disappears from the public sphere, this is a big problem,” he stated.
Bloc ACUM MP Mihai Popșoi said the entity he represents does not stick to posts. “We repeatedly said that we are ready to renounce the post of Speaker and do not stick to posts as we came to politics not for this purpose. We want to contribute to improving the situation. Regrettably, we could not have real discussions with the Socialists. It is the third time we invite them to discussions, but they refuse to come,” noted the MP.
ACUM MP Kiril Moțpan stated the problem resides in the inability of the politicians from the PSRM to leave aside the own interests and think about the country’s interests. “In our attempt to slightly move things on, we overcame our vainglory and accepted to openly talk with those from the PSRM, which is not at all simple. It is regrettable that we reached a situation when we have to beg the MPs to come and work,” he said.
Representatives of the Bloc ACUM proposed convoking a special session of Parliament for May 21. Only the ACUM MPs came to the sitting and the Bloc’s leaders said the Party of Socialists, the Democratic Party and the Shor Party should publicly assume responsibility for paralyzing the Parliament’s work.
