Israeli surgeons to operate children in Moldova

Eight Moldova children with cardiac malformations will be operated on by a group of doctors from Israel that will work at the Heart Surgery Centre in Chisinau between November 11 and 16. According to the Ministry of Health, the Israeli doctors will examine another 54 children with congenital heart malformations. The cooperation with the Israeli doctors, who are members of the Foundation “Save a Child’s Heart”, is provided by an agreement signed in 1997 by the Moldovan Ministry of Health with the Medical Centre Wolfson based in the Israeli town of Holon. During ten years, Moldova has been visited by three teams of doctors of the Foundation “Save a Child’s Heart” that examined over 100 children. A number of 55 children from Moldova have been operated at the Medical Centre Wolfson. The Israeli charity organisation “Save a Child’s Heart” was created in 1996 to provide assistance to the children from developing countries suffering from heart diseases.
