Irina Vlah says that she decided to run for President in order to restore the social guarantee system. She pledges to reintroduce the indexation of pensions twice a year, depending on the increase in prices, IPN reports.

The independent candidate also promises to increase the minimum pension to the level of the minimum consumption basket. In the Republic of Moldova, the minimum consumption basket in 2023 was 3,963 lei for a person from rural areas and 4,663 lei for a person from urban areas.

Irina Vlah also says that the childbirth allowance should cover the real needs of mothers.

“Maia Sandu’s good times have become for tens of thousands of citizens a synonym of poverty. The social protection system is not working, and the situation is getting worse. I will be a President who takes care of the citizens,” stated Irina Vlah.
