The former Bashkan of Gagauzia Irina Vlah, who announced her intention to create the Republican Party "Heart of Moldova", said that next year's parliamentary elections will be the first serious political exam for the party. "We will thoroughly prepare for these elections because the future of the Republic of Moldova depends decisively on it," the politician said at a briefing hosted by IPN.
Irina Vlah said that the Republican Party "Heart of Moldova" appears "at a difficult moment" for the country. "Now, when many look with distrust at the future of our country, we have the duty to prove that the Republic of Moldova has not exhausted its potential and can continue to develop, becoming, in the foreseeable future, a truly strong state from all points of view. We will work with dedication for this and I am convinced that we will succeed!", said the ex-Bashkan of Gagauzia.
As many as 1,191 citizens of the Republic became members of the party created by Irina Vlah, and local organizations were formed in 22 districts. The former Bashkan of Gagauzia noted the exemplary mobilization of her mates from the initiative group and appreciated the trust shown by all those who joined "the newest political project in the Republic of Moldova" – the "Heart of Moldova" party.
The party was formed at the congress held last Saturday, which involved 272 delegations from 22 districts. The congress adopted the statute and program of the party, the nominal composition of the National Political Council and a special resolution. Under the statute, the "Heart of Moldova" will be a center-left party with a conservative doctrine.
Irina Vlah stressed that among the main objectives of her new party's program are independent and professional justice, a real fight against corruption, an efficient system of social protection, decentralization and authentic local self-government, new approaches in healthcare, education and culture, the settlement of the Transnistrian dispute.
The Republican Party "Heart of Moldova" is to be officially registered with the Public Services Agency.
