As of 2019, each doctor who will go to work in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia will get a lump sum of 50,000 lei. The move is aimed at filling the vacancies of doctors in the region, the Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah was quoted by IPN as saying in the talk show “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel.
“We need doctors to come to the region. Currently, we have a shortage of 100 general or specialized practitioners in Gagauzia - about 60 doctors in district hospitals and the rest in rural health centers,” stated Irina Vlah.
The Governor noted that the health facilities are now modernized with the assistance of the partners of Gagauzia. “In October, we opened a new diagnosis center and are now repairing all the district health centers situated in towns. We are also repairing and opening health centers in all the villages,” said Irina Vlah.
The Bashkan also said that 13 special population support programs to provide cold-month allowances, maternity and childcare benefits will be launched in 2019. “In 2019, at the birth of the first child, in addition to the national allowance of 5,600 lei, we will pay a one-time benefit of 2,500 lei, while at the birth of the second and next children, of 4,000 lei,” stated Irina Vlah.
