The Heart of Moldova Party decided to resort to the popular initiative to launch the referendum on the neutrality of the Republic of Moldova. The party will submit notifications to the Central Election Commission and to the Chisinau City Hall regarding the planned constitution of the initiative group on the organization of the consultative referendum on neutrality. The statement was made by politician Irina Vlah at a news conference, IPN reports.
"This group will be constituted within two weeks. We believe that the time has come for the citizens to clearly state their opinion, thus forcing various political adventurers to abandon the idea of giving up neutrality and involving Moldova in military alliances," said the party's leader Irina Vlah.
The Heart of Moldova Party believes that this referendum will be a starting point for ensuring peace in Moldova. "Peace is the most precious thing we have and must preserve," stated Irina Vlah. According to her, the party considers it is essential for the citizens to pronounce on this topic that is important for the future of the country.
