Mayor Ion Ceban, in the meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) on Tuesday, proposed the director of SA “Apă-Canal Chișinău” Irina Gutnic for the post of deputy mayor of the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.
The mayor said that Irina Gutnic has the necessary professional experience and has legal studies. In 2003-2012, she held different posts at the Ministry of Finance. She also served as division head at the Court of Auditors and as deputy director general of the National Dispute Resolution Agency. “As regards her experience, this was almost exclusively gained in the local public administration,” stated Ion Ceban.
Irina Gutnic was named director of SA “Apă-Canal Chișinău” in the middle of this June.
One of the posts of deputy mayor of the municipality of Chisinau was recently vacated by Fadei Nagachevski.
In accordance with the legislation, a deputy mayor is elected by the decision of the Municipal Council, adopted by a majority of votes, at the suggestion of the mayor general. If the draft decision on the election of the candidate proposed for deputy mayor is excluded from the agenda of two consecutive meetings of the Council or the candidate is short of votes, the mayor general names the deputy mayor by an ordinance that is communicated to the CMC.
