January 2: Municipal services have been on duty in the center of the capital and ensured sanitation of public spaces. Officials from the General Directorate of Communal Housing and Urban Planning told. Thus, on December 31, January 1 and 2 in the Great National Assembly Square, during the cultural-artistic events, 10 workers of the ÎMGFL 8 were on the ground ,who worked from 6 in the morning until midnight.

January 4: The Chisinau City Hall announces that until the approval of the municipal budget within the CMC, the municipality will operate on the basis of a provisional budget for 2025. A provision to this effect was signed by Mayor Ion Ceban. According to the document, the provisional municipal budget for 2025 is set at 8.17 billion lei in revenues, including transfers from the state budget in the amount of 4.42 billion lei, and 8.75 billion lei in expenditures, with a budget balance of 580 million lei.

January 7: Trolleybuses in Chisinau are operating today and tomorrow according to the Sunday schedule. Urban bus routes will also follow the weekend timetable, with additional adjustments.

January 9: The fir trees placed in homes by Chisinau residents for the winter holidays will be reused, as during the previous years, said the General Housing and Amenities Division of the municipality. Thus, the inhabitants of the capital city are urged to store the fir trees and spruces used for the winter holidays near the municipal waste collection platforms. The Division calls on the residents of Chisinau not to throw fir trees directly into containers.

January 11: The Chisinau City Hall has announced the organization of a number of fairs this weekend, in all sectors. The events are aimed at promoting local producers and offering seasonal agricultural products to the residents of Chisinau.

January 13: Ten young people from Chisinau, aged between 18 and 30, will be selected to participate, between February and May, in the "Tomorrow Together” international project implemented in partnership with the Italian city of Reggio Emilia. Two of the most active participants will have the opportunity to visit Reggio Emilia in May or June to present the joint project of the team from Chisinau.

January 13: A new square is being laid out on the Stefan cel Mare and Holy Boulevard. The works are part of an infrastructure investment project. According to the municipality, the project envisages laying new pedestrian walkways, renovating the pavement with ceramic granite slabs and modernizing the water supply system.

January 16: The winter holidays have come to an end. The dismantling of the main Christmas tree began on Thursday in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau. Workers of the lighting municipal enterprise "Lumteh" and those of the "Green Spaces" Association are taking away the lights and decorations from the tree.

January 20: The parents' contribution for children's meals at preschool institutions in Chisinau municipality increases by 0.60 lei for one day, the deputy head of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sports Andrei Pavaloi announced on Monday, at the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services.

January 21: 120 playgrounds have been set up in the capital for a year. The works have been carried out in all sectors of the capital, the General Directorate for Communal Housing and Development. The addresses where the playgrounds have been laid out were selected according to the requests received from the residents in coordination with the sector prices. The grounds are of two sizes, larger and smaller, and the companies carrying out the work have been selected in accordance with the law.

January 21: The Chisinau Municipality has submitted a request to state institutions for compensation from the state budget to cover expenses for certain strategic services, amounting to over 177 million lei. The request comes in response to rising energy tariffs, which have caused the municipal budget losses of approximately 400 million lei.

January 23: Nine schools in Chisinau received educational sets consisting of teaching and office supplies, including school supplies, educational games and sports equipment. The initiative is part of efforts to support communities affected by the refugee crisis in Ukraine and local challenges in the Republic of Moldova. According to the Directorate-General, education, youth and sport, a total of 3,000 pupils and 260 teachers from the schools involved received educational kits, which include school bags, school supplies and materials necessary for the educational process.

January 23: The Chisinau City Hall says it is aware of the grievances related to the construction and demolition waste dump at 36 Calea Ieșilor Street, and is working with the residents of the area to find solutions. In a statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Civil Budget, the local administration asks that the issue not be politicized.

January 25: After the winter holidays, the natural fir trees used by the residents of Chisinau in their homes were collected to be transformed into natural fertilizer, while the sawdust is used as compost to plant other trees, Dumitru Gorelco, deputy director of the Green Spaces Association, told M1 channel.

January 27: The municipal sections intended for patients with influenza and acute respiratory infections are full. According to the head of the Chisinau Health Division Vladimir Bolocan, in case of an increase in the number of patients, national institutions will be asked to offer assistance.

January 28: After extensive reconstruction works, "Mihail Ciachir" Library, a branch of "B. P. Hașdeu" Municipal Library, reopened its doors in Chisinau. The institution was repaired with the assistance of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency. The mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban came with a message of support on the occasion of the reopening of the renovated library. He urged tolerance in society and to ensure that the library space is used in the best way.

January 29: What happened at the January 28 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council represents manipulation of public opinion and a political action on the part of the PAS and PSRM councilors. This is the reaction of the Chisinau City Hall to the decision to cancel the cleanup tax, which was approved by the councilors of the two parties.

January 30: Employees of the Ciocana District Court carried out raids on Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd, asking unauthorized vendors to leave the street. The traders were warned that they violate the law and were encouraged to sell only in authorized commercial premises.
