October 2: A number of trolleybuses and buses running in Chisinau will be on routes until 01:00 a.m. on the night of October 4. The extended schedule was decided and announced by the local authorities in connection with the football match between Moldova’s Petrocub Hîncești and Cyprus’s Pafos Paphos, which will be hosted by the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.

October 4: Chisinau will turn into the capital of volunteering during October 7-13. The Chisinau City Hall invites the young people to a series of activities entitled “I choose to be a volunteer” as part of the Volunteer Week. The event aims to promote the active involvement of young people in the community, giving them the opportunity to participate in various activities and share volunteer experiences.

October 7: Chisinau will be the capital of volunteering this week. The municipal authorities launched the volunteering week with the title “I choose to be a volunteer|”. Thus, the youth centers in the capital city invite young people to various activities to promote volunteering in the community. The Municipal Youth Center stages a special event dedicated to young people and youth organizations, titled “VOLUNTalk”. A Volunteer Opportunities Fair will also be held in Chisinau, during which youth organizations will present various projects to attract and motivate those who want to volunteer.

October 7: The Patron Saint Day of Chisinau will be celebrated during two days: Sunday, October 13, and Monday, October 14, when the religious feast of the Protection of the Mother of God is observed. “From energetic concerts to cultural events and traditional fairs, the city’s patron saint promises to offer moments for all tastes and ages,” said the Chisinau City Hall.

October 10: Decebal Boulevard in Chisinau will be inaccessible to vehicle traffic from Thursday at 10:00 p.m. until Friday morning at 7:00 a.m. The Chisinau City Hall said that the measure was taken in connection with the need to carry out the works to restore the asphalt covering on Decebal Blvd.

October 11: A new recreation place will be put up in “Valea Trandafirilor” Park in Botanica district of the capital city. This day is a nonworking day in the capital and a program of cultural and artistic events is staged for the residents and visitors of the city. The first mention regarding the locality dates back to July 1436, and later a rural fair with a stone hall, around the parishes of the Nativity of the Virgin and the Holy Emperors Constantine and Helen, was described.

October 14: The section of Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd in Chisinau between the streets Vasile Alecsandri and Maria Cebotari remains closed until Tuesday morning, at 05:00 a.m. In order to provide with transport the people who will celebrate Chisinau’s Patron Saint Day in the center of the capital city, the schedule of trolleybuses and buses was extended.

October 14: The main stage in the Great National Assembly Square on October 14, when the Patron Saint Day of Chisinau is observed, will host the largest orchestras of the city, led by illustrious conductors. Starting at 11:00 a.m., the Orchestra of the Maria Bieșu National Opera and Ballet House, the Advahov Brothers Orchestra, the “Fluieraș” Orchestra, the Chisinau Camerata, the Chisinau Jazz Orchestra and the Dorel Burlacu Band will perform.

This is the message disseminated by President Maia Sandu on the occasion of Chisinau’s Patron Saint Day.

October 15: Termoelectrica said that it is ready to start to supply thermal energy to all categories of consumers in the municipality of Chisinau. According to the company, the supply of heat can regardless of the date of issuance of the mayor general’s relevant order. The procedure can be initiated at the request of the apartment building or block manager.

October 17: The 2024-2025 heating season for consumers in Chisinau municipality starts on Thursday. An order in this regard was signed by deputy mayor Irina Gutnic. Under the order, Termoelectrica and Apă-Canal Chișinău will ensure the connection of the housing sector and social institutions to the heating system in accordance with the concluded contracts, based on the received requests.

October 18: A new playground was put up in “La Izvor” Park of Chisinau. The area was decorated with shells and octopuses. The marine design was chosen because the ground is located near the lake, explained Vasile Efros, head of the Planning and Environment Unit of the General Housing and Amenities Division. Vasile Efros said that the ground is located on the central alley, next to other playgrounds, all of which form an extensive recreational area in “La Izvor” Park.

October 21: Trolleybuses No. 2 will run on a modified route on October 21, the Chisinau Electric Transport Company said. The route from city center will be as follows: from Pushkin St to București St - A. Shchusev St - Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd.

October 21: Two apartment buildings in the municipality of Chisinau were connected to the heating system, as were 117 kindergartens, 9 schools and 11 medical institutions, the head of the General Housing and Amenities Division Ion Burdiumov announced in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services.

October 24: Over 920 students will have access to the largest football stadium (standard size) at an educational institution in the municipality. The field was inaugurated on Thursday at "Universul" Theoretical High School in Telecentru quarter. The stadium was built by the Chisinau City Hall in partnership with the Moldovan Football Federation.

October 24: The Chisinau City Hall informed about the initiation of the process of drafting a decision on the approval and implementation of local taxes for next year. October 28: All billboards and advertising devices in the municipality of Chisinau are included on a GIS platform where it can be seen if they are legally placed, deputy mayor Ilie Ceban announced in a meeting of officials of municipal services, noting that the inventorying process was initiated three weeks ago.

October 29: Applications for non-reimbursable financing for cultural projects for next year can be presented from November 1 until the end of the month at the General Culture and Cultural Heritage Division of the Chisinau City Hall or shall be sent to the email address: directia.cultura@pmc.md.

October 29: A new naval-themed children's playground has been installed in the Râșcani forest park. A similar playground, featuring shell and octopus figures, was set up a week ago in "La Izvor" park. The General Directorate for Housing and Public Utilities mentions that the children's playground includes slides and swings, and the surface is covered with rubber tiles for the safety of the little ones.
