Moldova national team halfback Artur Ionita needed to play two games to score his first goal in the championship of Italy, Series A. He scored the only goal in the encounter between AC Torino and Hellas Verona that ended by 0-1.
Entering the field in the 64th minute, Ionita scored in only two minutes by a kick from inside the ground. He showed a good game and had one more occasion for scoring, but missed it.
“I didn’t expect I will score. It is important that we won. I work hard as I want to become a titular player,” Artur Ionita has told IPN.
This victory allowed Hellas to rise to the third place in Series A with 7 points, by two fewer than the leading AS Roma and Juventus. Ionita has signed with Hellas this summer, after leaving Aarau. The 24-year-old halfback is the first Moldovan competing in the championship of Italy.
