Igor Dodon will not complete his duties as President judging by the current situation, ex-Premier Ion Sturza stated in the talk show “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.
Ion Sturza noted there are already very subtle signals of this in the public sphere. “There could be an impeachment in Parliament, a confirmation decision by the Constitutional Court and, eventually, even his elimination in the style of Vlad Filat,” he said. According to him, this is a very dangerous path. “Igor Dodon should not be harmed if only in case of maximum national treason.”
The former Prime Minister considers the President is now supported by almost 70% of Moldova’s population and this is a mass of people who would have to be managed if he is eliminated. “I think he should be defeated by public speeches, by attitudes and decisions by Parliament that would react by approaches as a political institution, but we should avoid the possibility of a serious crisis that can lead to a very harsh confrontation between the supporters and anti-supporters of Dodon in the Republic of Moldova,” stated Ion Sturza.
