Actors of the Satiricus National Theater “Ion Luca Caragiale” of Chisinau will put on seven plays in the Romanian cities of Bucharest, Giurgiu and Suceava within a tour during May 6-18, IPN reports, with reference to a press release of the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi Institute for Romanians Everywhere, which supports the implementation of the second edition of the cultural-artistic  project “A Theater Bridge over the Prut”, IPN reports.

The event is held in connection with the Centenary of the Great Union. There will be staged the following plays: “Ciuleandra” by Liviu Rebreanu; “The Wedding” by Anton P. Chekhov; “Everything about us” by Constantin Cheianu; “Made in Moldova!” by Constantin Cheianu; “The Master and Margarita” by Mikhail Bulgakov; “Hamlet” by William Shakespeare, and “Women’s Doctor” by Georges Feydeau.

The goal of the project is to develop and promote the theatrical art in Moldova and Romania. This will also intensify the dialogue between actors in Romania and Moldova. “The staging of plays in the year of the Centenary of the Great Union will contribute to realizing the importance of a notable episode in our national history,” it is said in the press release.

The project forms part of the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi Institute’s program “Common Romanian Cultural Space – Centenary of the Great Union 1918-2018”.
