The Liberal Reformist Party (PLR) will not withdraw from the electoral race at anyone’s request, the party’s leader Ion Hadarca said, denying unofficial reports that the PLR was sold to particular businessmen, IPN reports.

In the program “Fourth power” on N4 TV channel, the leader of the PLR said that the party’s co-chairwoman Ana Gutu struck painfully when she demanded that the party should be withdrawn from the race. “We wanted to take part in the parliamentary elections in a bloc with the Liberal Democratic Party. We discussed this possibility with Vlad Filat, but he didn’t accept for the reason that it was too late. We yet agreed to include five persons in the list of the PLDM. The National Council of the PLR rejected this proposal, arguing the party’s identity will be thus lost,” stated Ion Hadarca.

He also said that Ana Gutu got angry after the PLR didn’t accept its candidates to be included in the list of the PLDM. “We reached an agreement with Ana Gutu for her not to damage the party’s image. She assured us that she will not harm the PLR’s image, but didn’t keep her word. So, we will have to take attitude,” noted Hadarca. In the same commotion, he said that he does not personally know the Topa brothers to whom they purportedly sold the party. Such accusations were made after he took part in a program on Jurnal TV channel, which is said to be owned by the Topa brothers.

In the same program, Ion Hadarca expressed his regret at the fact that the parties of the government coalition didn’t decide to take part in the elections in a bloc, putting thus the personal interests above the country’s interests. Though he wanted to form an electoral block with the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party, the leader of the PLR accused the two parties of being powerfully oligarchized.
