“I will do my utmost for the whole faction, not only me, to vote for the ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU. The benefits of the association with the EU are incommensurable with what the East offers,” the leader of the Liberal-Reformists Ion Hadarca said within an inquiry held by IPN among lawmakers.
Ion Hadarca said the East is weakened and destabilized by permanent conflicts and embargoes. It provides instability and uncertainty. At the same time, the rapprochement with the EU brings stability, common values, democracy and, simultaneously, a lower level of poverty and corruption.
“The EU also offers the possibility of studying and of modernizing the economy and infrastructure, education and all the other components. These benefits are already palpable through the coming projects. The President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso announced that the EU offers us €50 million for supporting the European course. Who else can offer us so much support?” asked the lawmaker.
A number of 51 votes of MP are needed for the Association Agreement with the EU, which is to be signed on June 27, to be ratified.
