The initiators of the Government reform made a mistake as they took into account only the administrative-juridical component and ignored the sociopolitical component, chairman of the Center for Initiatives and Public Authorities Monitoring Ion Dron said in the program “Key issue” on NTV Moldova channel, IPN reports.

“Nobody spoke about the social component within this reform. When I say the social component I refer to the criteria according to which the new team will be chosen and will be promoted on the hierarchic scale,” stated Ion Dron. He said he attentively examined the reform documents and didn’t see the instruments by which the reform will be done.

Political analyst Pavel Midrigan said he agrees with the form of the reform, not yet with its content. Statistics show there are 710,000 employees in Moldova, 200,000 of who work in the public sector. “We have too many public servants and their duties are doubled sometimes,” stated the analyst, adding that from this viewpoint the Government had to be reformed indeed, but it is not clear how the reform will be implemented.

According to journalist Irina Astahova, the reform for now is more formal because the reduction in the number of ministries does not mean that the number of state functionaries will also be reduced. “There are many divisions and agencies behind the ministries they merged. No one said the ministries will be merged and the number of employees in the state apparatus will decrease,” she stated, noting this is a political reform by which the Government got rid of the Liberal partners and of those who probably didn’t suit it.
