The Chisinau-based Ion Creanga Lyceum has won the municipal stage of the Young and European intelligence Contest. The final will take place on April 18 and will bring together students from Chisinau, Balti and Cahul, the winners of the subnational competitions. The final’s victors will get the trophy of the competition – a personalized Cup with the European logo imprinted on it, and other prizes, too, Info-Prim Neo reports. The municipal stage in Chisinau was held on April 8. Princess Natalia Dadiani Lyceum ranked the second and Mircea Eliade High came in a close third. According to the chair of the jury, councilor Corina Fusu, the participants answered 20 questions of general character about the history of the European Union and its leaders in the first round. In the second round, the students presented projects on two topics related to the European Union and its institutions. The students’ visions about Moldova’s European future formed the topic of the third round. In the final round, the participants had to display their musical talents, performing the anthem of one of the European countries. The choristers from Ion Creanga sang the French anthem; those from Natalia Dadiani performed the anthem of Romania, and the students from Mircea Eliade chose Germany’s. The contest is organized by BDR Associates and commissioned by the European Commission’s Delegation to Moldova, on the occasion of Europe Day on May 9.
