The leader of the Party of Development and Unity of Moldova Ion Chicu came to the polling station together with his wife and daughter. The ex-Premier said he gave his vote for a prosperous country and for the citizens of this state who work honesty and with abnegation. Chicu said he voted also for the diaspora to return home.

“I voted also for those who went abroad and are not at peace with themselves as they work for others there, while their soul is at home. I voted for them to return home, as I returned to my child, to my family,” said Ion Chicu, noting he had a good job abroad, but knew that he was to return home and work.

The ex-Premier said the state budget funds were used up and a professional team is needed to work out the budget for next year. “I voted for the people after July 11 to get salaries and pensions as the resources were used up and the remaining amounts will do for July-August only. A lot of work is to be done later. I voted for people who can and know how to bring money. I voted to stop the exodus of professionals so that the situation of the summer of 2019 does not repeat,” stated Ion Chicu.

The ex-Premier noted he will spend the day at home, near the family, and in the evening will appear in public.

Over 3 million electors are expected to go to the polls. For the elections to be validated, the turnout should be at least 1/3 of the voters. Polling stations are open between 7am and 9pm.
