The Party of Socialists’ candidate for mayor of Chisinau Ion Ceban promises to partially or fully repair about 80 kindergartens and 90 schools. In his electoral program, the candidate says he will keep the salary bonus of 50% for kindergarten personnel, such as cooks, educators and medical staff, at least until the Government and Parliament modify the legislation for these categories of employees, IPN reports.
As a mayor, Ion Ceban intends to ensure free places at kindergartens for families with two and more children of preschool age and online registration at nursery schools so that each parent could see the place in the row and when they will be accepted to the kindergarten. His task is to impose strict control over admission to kindergartens. Each child living near a kindergarten should be allotted a place at this institution.
In his electoral program, the Socialist candidate also says he will support talented children by offering them special municipal assistance – awards and scholarships for students within the program “Young People are Our Future”. Modern labs and sports equipment will be delivered to schools based on agreements with local and foreign partners.
Ion Ceban promises to work out the municipal program “Student’s Electronic Book” and to introduce this on a trial basis in a number of schools in the city, at least one in each district. Each parent could follow the frequency rate (entrance and exit of school) and academic performance (grades, themes, comments of teachers) and could communicate with teachers on any subject.
In the education sector, the candidates aims to create a common online register of sports sections and development centers. Those interested will be able to look for an activity online, according to such parameters as type of activity, location and age.
