The employees of the social protection system of Chisinau municipality are discriminated compared with those who work at the National Social Insurance House (CNAS). A CNAS employee has a bonus of 25% to the salary, while those who work in Chisinau receive no bonus at all, said the Party of Socialists’ candidate for mayoral of Chisinau Ion Ceban, promising he will identify the necessary funds for the municipality to also provide bonuses to the salary, IPN reports.
Ion Ceban told a news conference that the social workers and pedagogues from the social protection system have a tariff salary of only 1,160 lei. Most of these are young specialists. To support them, they will be offered allowances for paying the rent for dwelling. “The social workers who have a salary of only 1,500 lei and do not benefit from transport face serious problems. One of my first actions as a mayor will be to provide the necessary units of transport to them, as the regulations stipulate and as it should be,” stated the Socialist candidate.
The personal assistants also need free transport or allowances for transport and Ion Ceban promised to solve this problem too. He also aims to provide the social assistants and workers with season tickets for urban transport and with meal vouchers. “Another major problem in Chisinau is that we have about 5,000 persons with disabilities in wheelchairs and the social assistants who work with these do not have specialized transport for taking them to institutions. The purchase of such specialized transport will be devoted special attention in my program,” assured Ion Ceban.
The candidate considers the specialists who determine vitality should benefit from a separate space for professional examinations. Ion Ceban said his experts already formulated concrete proposals for allocating such a space.
