Chisinau is a growth pole for the economic and social development of the localities situated in the influence zone and for the country in general, said the chairman of the National Alternative Movement (MAN) Ion Ceban, who is competing for a new term in office. According to him, the main task of his team is to create an urban planning framework as a basis for the integrity of city development from all viewpoints. The candidate noted that he is for the development of commercial and residential areas, primarily on the periphery of the city, as Chisinau City should expand, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Ion Ceban said that he proposes implementing three big projects that cover a development zone that is over 1,000 square meters in area. It goes to the extension of Mircea cel Bătrân Blvd by developing the area between the capital city and Stăuceni, the building of Mesager St to connect Râșcani and Centru districts and the reconstruction of Industrială St so as to connect Ciocana and Botanica districts.

According to the incumbent mayor of Chisinau, the roads and sidewalks will remain a priority and the city will be fully illuminated. “All the programs initiated so far, including those regarding in vitro fertilization and the difficult programs, like detection of breast cancer and many others, will be further implemented and the number of beneficiaries will be extended. We will not stop any of the services. We will extend and multiply them,” stated the MAN leader.

He noted that the capital city of the Republic of Moldova is now the most attractive locality owing to its administrative resource, the number of inhabitants, the concentration of financial and investment capital, industrial, sociocultural and commercial constructions.

“The repair of yards of blocks, besides the 30% rehabilitated the previous years, is another priority. Our goal is to rehabilitate all the parks in Chisinau. There are three more large and important parks that need to be repaired – the finishing of the Square of the Cathedral, the Garden “Stephan the Great and Holy” and the Forest-Park “Râșcani”,” said the candidate.

Following a draw, it was decided that Ion Ceban of the National Alternative Movement will be the 16th on the list of candidates on the ballot.
