The post of head of the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) was vacated. The information was confirmed for IPN by the institution’s spokesman Emil Gaitur.
The source said Ion Caracuian tendered his resignation on October 13, invoking personal reasons.
This is the second specialized prosecutor’s office that remains without a manager. Last week, Adrian Bordianu was dismissed from the post of acting chief of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office by order of the caretaker prosecutor general.
