Ion Ababii was reelected as rector of the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”. The election involved 90 of the 101 members of the Senate, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the institution.
Ion Ababii said that he will continue to promote a modern, participatory and transparent management system based on results, adjusted to the needs of the university community and society. In order to achieve this desideratum, he will insist on developing autonomous university mechanisms by decentralizing institutional management and increasing the competence and responsibilities of all the university subdivisions.
As to the management of teaching activity, lecturer Ion Ababii said that the implementation of quality standards will continue and the instructive-educational process will be based on the formation and development of students’ and residents’ skills. The training programs will be further improved and adjusted to the European programs. Special attention will be paid to the forms of post-university training – creation and development of doctoral schools as the third cycle of studies, training in residency and in the continuous medical education system.
Academician Ion Ababii said the scientific activity is also an important area. “We will support the young teachers and research activity by internships abroad and will promote efficient management based on the intellectual property rights and technological transfer, including by using anti-plagiarism software,” said the rector.
In order to strengthen the biomedical research capacities, there will be created a University Research Center, while the scientific laboratories will be modernized and outfitted appropriately.
