The National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Center received 300 cooler bags for transporting thermolabile medicines and 600 flexible cooler elements provided by the International Organization for Migration Mission to Moldova, with financial support from the European Union. The equipment will be transmitted to emergency medical assistance teams all over the country, IPN reports.

“We are making effort to improve the quality of medical assistance, protecting the workplace and the transportation of biological materials and blood components,” the Center’s vice director Iurie Crasiuc stated in the handover event.

Ion Prisăcaru, secretary of state of the Ministry of Health, said the equipment is very important for the pre-hospital assistance service, among the objectives aimed at strengthening pre-hospital medical assistance being increasing the possibility of providing medical assistance in any situation for patients in critical condition and the number of manipulations that can be performed by first aid teams. The cooler equipment will enable the medical teams to have on them preparations needed to offer assistance in critical situations.

Lars Johan Lönnback, IOM Moldova Chief of Mission, stated that the assistance in healthcare and in emergencies is an essential part of the IOM’s role. The donation is aimed at supporting the strengthening of the health system in general by offering an updated ambulance service. The ensuring of an appropriate temperature regime amidst global warming is very important.

Adam Grodzicki, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Section of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova, said the donation shows the EU’s solidarity with Moldova and the continuous partnership with the Ministry of Health, which confirms the assistance in providing high-quality medial services to the country’s citizens and to refugees.
