The Prime Minster and the President of Romania Victor Ponta and Klaus Iohannis had a working meeting in Bucharest, where Ponta informed Iohannis about Moldova. In a message on a social networking site, the Romanian Premier says that there is consensus between him and Klaus Iohannis, while Romania remains one of the staunchest supporters of Moldova, IPN reports.

On the Independence Day on August 27, Victor Ponta visited Chisinau. In an interview, he said that Romania, which now has economic growth, can go further and invest money in Moldova. It is yet important for control to exist in Chisinau so that the money reaches the planned projects.

Victor Ponta stated he is glad that concrete actions were taken during the last two-three years such as the construction of the Iasi – Ungheni gas pipeline, renovation of nurseries and donation of minibuses. Not accidentally, Romania became the main economic partner of Moldova. There is yet a lot to be done as regards infrastructure and reforms. Nobody in the EU is as determined as Romania to support Moldova in the modernization and reformation process so as to help improve people’s lives.
