People’s artist Ioan Paulencu will celebrate his 70th anniversary on the stage of the National Opera and Ballet Theater. On Sunday, December 5, he will perform, alongside his friends and disciples, in the concert “What I loved most in this world”. The singer told Info-Prim Neo he was happy to have maintained his voice, figure and stature at the age of 70.
Alongside Ioan Paulencu, the following singers will perform on Sunday: Vladimir Dragos, Iurie Gasca, Angela Arti, Ana Dimitriu and Mariana Bulicanu. His learners Lenuta Gheorghita, Igor Cuciuc, Diamanta Paterau and Victor Bordari will sing folkloric pieces, assisted by the Music College “Stefan Negara” Orchestra and Bucovina ethno-folkloric ensemble.
Ioan Paulencu declared he had imagined this concert a bit different. He would have wanted to stage a mono-opera, a comedy, in which he was a bandmaster. However, he thinks this can be done later.
The concert will begin at 4 PM, on Sunday, at the National Opera and Ballet Theater.
Ion Paulencu was born in 1940 in Bucovina.
