During the second issuance to trade state bonds on the platform evms.md, state securities (SSs) to the value of almost 151 million lei were subscribed, IPN reports.
Secretary of state of the Ministry of Finance Ion Gumene said that a total of 1,215 transactions were carried out by 774 investors.
"During this issuance, there were placed SSs with a maturity of one year and an interest rate of 6.85 percent, and SSs with a maturity of two years and an interest rate of 7 percent," the official told a press conference.
Following the subscription, around 70% of the investments were made in state securities for a term of one year. According to Ion Gumene, many investors preferred to invest in both types of financial instruments, which demonstrates the desire to diversify their investments.
"Today, all those who had subscribed become investors and the period of maturity begins. Respectively, in six months you will receive the first interest on the amounts invested in SSs," said the official.
The Ministry of Finance plans the next issuance of government bonds on evms.md for March.
Also, next year the authorities aim to develop the platform's functionalities, and launching the secondary market is one of the objectives. "It is the place where you will be able to trade the purchased SSs. Thus, we want to increase the number of investors and of accounts, respectively investments in state securities," said Ion Gumene.
During the first issuance of state securities through the eVMS.md platform, 815 direct transactions to the total value of over 78.7 million lei were registered.
