Investments in power distribution networks will exceed 300m lei

The National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) approved the investment plan for 2010 of the power distribution networks - RED Union Fenosa, RED Nord and RED Nord – Vest. The three companies will invest a total of 327 million lei (18.6 million euros) this year, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the ANRE's press service. Under the plan, RED Union Fenosa will invest 230.1 million lei, RED Nord – 61.3 million lei, while RED Nord - Vest – 35.6 million lei. The largest part of the investments – 279.2 million lei or 85.4% of the total volume – will be used to develop, reconstruct and rehabilitate the electric power networks. 169.6 million lei of this will go to restore the networks, 61.8 million lei to reconstruct the voltage regulation stations and transformers, while 27.8 million lei to extend the power distribution networks. RED Union Fenosa will allocate 188.1 million lei for the purpose, RED Nord – 48.8 million lei, while RED Nord - Vest – 22.3 million lei. The other money will be used for electric power meters (17.1 million lei), automated systems, tele- and radiocommunications and programs (9 million lei), units of transport and specialized equipment (14.3 million lei), other things needed to ensure the functionality of the power distribution networks (7.4 million lei). According to the investment plan for 2009, the three companies were to invest 377 million lei overall, 251 million lei - RED Union Fenosa, 83 million lei - RED Nord, 43 million lei - RED Nord – Vest. The Agency will make public the information about the investments made in 2009 after it finishes analyzing companies' financial reports for the previous year. The methodology for calculating the electric power charges says the ANRE approves the yearly investment plans of the REDs in accordance with the requirements laid down in the the given normative documents.
