Investment in fixed capital decreases

In the first nine months of this year investments in fixed capital constituted 5,555.2 million lei, which represents 57.5 percent of the figure registered in the similar period last year, the National Statistics Bureau reported.
In particular, construction work was valued at 3,136 million lei, down by 37.8 percent. Private companies accounted for 73.3 percent of the total fixed investment and 71 percent of the construction work, including 97.6 percent of housing.
Purchases of equipment and vehicles constituted 36.6 percent of the total fixed investment, up 0.6 percentage points.
Foreign investment in fixed capital represented 19 percent, and government investment 9.8 percent.
