Investigative Journalists’ Club reconvenes

The second meeting of the Investigative Journalists’ Club (IJC) was held in Info-Prim Neo’s conference room, on Wednesday, April 25. The meeting was attended by Henrik Kaufholtz, the representative of the network for investigative journalists in East and Southeastern Europe SCOOP. He spoke about the necessity of associating the investigative journalists. Kaufholtz also said that the organisation he represents will start from January 1 a new project which will broaden the area of Scoop funding. SCOOP provides funding for investigations in East European countries. Investigations of Moldovan and Transnistrian journalists have been funded as well. The representative of the Romanian Centre for Investigative Journalism Stefan Candea shared with his Moldovan colleagues the experience in investigative reporting in Romania. Investigative journalists from Moldova, such as Tudor Iascenco and Cornelia Cozonac revealed cases investigated in Moldova, problems that journalists confront with in this respect, reaction of authorities etc. The first meeting of the Investigative Journalists Club took place on April 12. The Club was organised by the Investigative Journalism Centre (CIN) under a project financed by Open Society Institute through the agency of Soros-Moldova Foundation. Within the Club, investigative journalists will be able to work together, analyse and debate certain investigative cases. Recently, CIN launched the second volume of investigative reports “Corruption Files”.
