Introduction of Medical Forms Register put off

The deadline for the introduction of the State Medical Forms Register was postponed for April 1, 2011 at the request of the Ministry of Health, Info-Prim Neo reports. “In order to minimize the negative effects of the world financial crisis on the health system, the Ministry launched activities to review the secondary budget spending of the medical institutions,” Minister of Health Larisa Catrinici said. The Register will be implemented at a cost of 14.6 million lei. Out of this sum, 4.07 million lei will be used to devise the software of the automated system, 2.2 million lei to purchase equipment, while 8.3 million lei to print medical forms with protection signs. Larisa Catrinici said the extension of the deadline for the introduction of the Register will not affect the provision of medical services as the records will be kept on ordinary medical forms. This decision offers the possibility of using the existent stocks of medical forms available for 6 to 14 months, depending on the type of form.
