The Central Dispatcher’s Service of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” in September received over 2,300 calls about accidents in the water and sewer network. The water supplier assures that the intervention teams acted promptly so that all the problems and faults that appeared in the supply and sewerage system could be fixed swiftly.
A number of 1,369 accidents in water pipes and 981 accidents in sewer pipes were recorded in the period. The company’s teams carried out a series of additional works to improve the supply of water. Thus, in 128 cases water pipes that were at most 5m in length and with a diameter of 25 mm to 1,200 mm were replaced, 112 valves were repaired, the networks were washed and disinfected, etc.
SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” was also informed about 24 cases of theft or absence of manhole covers on sidewalks, in parks and in areas between apartment buildings. Each of the case was examined and covers were placed where they were absent so as to prevent road accidents and traumas.
The company notes that the losses of water sustained in the process of fixing problems decreased slightly owing to the swift intervention of its employees to execute the required works, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the water supplier.
