The Interpol headquarters received the letter from the law enforcement agencies of Moldova concerning the putting of the former Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc on the wanted list. According to Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, the notice of the receipt of the requisition arrived last week, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the Superior Council of Prosecutors, Alexandr Stoianoglo told the press that discussions will be held with representatives of Interpol, including about the eventual necessity of presenting additional documents. “It does not depend on us. I can tell you that we will further insist on the search of Mister Plahotniuc,” stated the prosecutor general.

Last yearend, the National Anticorruption Center made approaches to the authorities in the U.S., Romania and the UK, asking to look for the former leader of the Democratic Party Vladimir Plahotniuc on their territories, including under the name of Vladislav Novak, which is his second identity in Moldova. On January 13, the U.S. designated Plahotniuc publicly due to involvement in significant corruption and he is thus ineligible for visas to the United States.
