The International Women's Club of Moldova (IWCM) organizes the traditional winter charity fair, the 12th edition, at Moldexpo Center, on December 6. Over 20 diplomatic missions and international organizations, plus 15 Moldovan NGOs, have been invited . The money will be given to three organizations, the projects of which were okayed to be funded, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The IWCM's chairwoman, Marcie Gräfin Lambsdorff, Friday told a news conference the grants would go to the social centers for children Renastere and Speranta from Chisinau, and the kindergarten from Lunga village, Floresti distric.
“We're glad we can support the children especially the ones with health problems,” the president of the grant board, Susan Balian, said.
The attendees will set for sale food, apparel, handicraft products, souvenirs, books – all representing traditions of the countries they come from. The IWCM will set up a stand where the kids will take pictures with Santa Claus.
During 11 years, some $112,000 were collected in the events. In 2007, the money went to the medical center from Balauresti village, Nisporeni district, kindergarten Spicusor from Gratiesti village, Chisinau and Pro Dezvoltare Center from Harbovat, Anenii Noi district.
The IWCM was founded in 1997 to allow foreigners and Moldovans alike to involve in charities and better know Moldova's traditions and culture. The IWCM has 100 members.
