The international graduates of “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF), of the Medicine program, took a medical oath. The students promised they will practice medicine with integrity and compassion, IPN reports.

USMF rector Emil Ceban expressed his conviction that the graduates will practice medicine with honesty and overall responsibility and will become the best ambassadors of the University. He wished the graduates nice professional accomplishments.

Emil Ceban said that the graduates will leave for their country of origin. “For us, it is very important that you pass the assessment exams in your countries as this is our success too. For us, this is really important as the next generation that comes depends on his,” started the rector, noting that the University tries hard to ensure the Republic of Moldova or, more exactly, the USMF remains a provider of medical staff for the whole world.

Mircea Bețiu, dean of Faculty of Medicine No. 2 of “Nicolae Testemițanu” University, said that even if the student years passed, the names of this year’s graduates will remain in the lists with over 5,000 international graduates of the USMF. The successes and failures of these will form part of the institution’s history. Despite the multiple challenges, including the coronavirus pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the students managed to become winners for themselves, for the family and for the own community.

The 35 young people who took the oath form part of the first class of graduates who were admitted to “Nicolae Testemițanu” University in spring. Among these, 23 are from Israel, 9 are from India and by one are from Bulgaria, Norway and Malaysia.

Starting with 2018, the admission of foreign students to the USMF is staged biannually, in spring and in autumn.
