Emeritus artists from Moldova and from another 11 countries will perform in the concerts that will be given within the 50th International Music Festival “Martsishor” between February 29 and March 11. According to the organizers, this year the festival will be different by the diversity of the genres of music, IPN reports.
Minister of Culture Monica Babuc told a news conference that the Festival “Martsishor” is one of the most important cultural events in Moldova. Owing to this event, internationally renowned artists performed on national stages. “This year we will have a variety of genres of music, starting with jazz, folk and rock and ending with classical music,” she stated.
Among the musicians who will take part in this year’s Festival are names becoming popular in Italy, China, Russia, Lithuania, Romania, the U.S. SUA, Ireland, Japan, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Recitals will be given by Orchestra Lundstreem, Dmitri Klevenski, the Jazz Orchestra of the Academy of Music, Theater and Plastic Arts, Vally Boghean, Alex Calancea Band, Italian singer Natalia Gavrilan, the baritone from Kazakhstan Azamat Jeltarguzov, Japanese pianist Tomoko Siromoto and Russian pianist Eduard Kunz, and others.
Performances will also be given by the Symphonic Orchestra of the National Philharmonic “Sergey Lunkevich” and the National Chamber Orchestra of the Organ Hall, the Russian State Academic Choir “M.E. Piatnitskii”, the National Women’s Orchestra of Jiangsu, China, Soso Pavliashvili, Stefan Banica Junior and the band “2 Sud Est” as well as by national folk music and dancing groups.
Concerts within the festival will also be staged in Anenii Noi, Ungheni, Soroca, Balri, Rezina, Leova, Calarasi, Straseni, Nisporeni, Glodeni etc.
