For three days, local and foreign doctors will share their knowledge and experience as regards strengthening the management of surgical patients. Activities will take place within the framework of the Congress of "Nicolae Anestiadi" Surgeons Association, the XIII edition, and of the Congress of "V. M. Guțu” Society of Endoscopy, Minimally Invasive Surgery and Ultrasonography, the third edition, which was officially inaugurated on Wednesday, September 18, IPN reports.
Gheorghe Rojnoveanu, Vice-Rector for scientific activity at "Nicolae Testemitanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF) and the President of the Congress noted that the people who participated in the forum, local and foreign delegates, had constantly contributed to professional discussions for the clear benefit of specialists’ professional and social activities.
"By sharing our experience, we are helping to strengthen the surgical treatment of patients. We are fully convinced that this scientific forum will familiarize us with the latest news and advances in surgery as well as the new methods implemented by the management of surgical treatments”, said Gheorghe Rojnoveanu.
Olga Cernețchi, USMF vice-rector, notes that surgery is also called "the queen of medical sciences", since it is one of the most advanced and complicated forms of medical care. The profession of surgeon is a noble one, coveted by many, but very difficult to perform, says Olga Cernețchi.
According to the Vice-Rector, the Congress is also an occasion to commemorate those who laid the foundations of the surgical schools in Moldova starting from 1945 when Chisinau Institute of Medicine was founded. She also maintains that all the accomplishments of national medicine in theory and practice could not have happened without the collaboration and mutual support relations with universities, clinics, departments of Ukraine, Romania, Poland Russia, but also the USA, Canada, Israel.
Alexandru Voloc, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, is convinced that the work of the congress will boost the development of surgery in Moldova. He sent a message of support to the Surgeons' Society and "those reforms that will be continued by the ministry in the field of specialized medicine and public health system in general".
The event was attended by honorary guests, among which: Piotr Yablonsky, director of the Phthisiopneumology Research Institute in St. Petersburg, chief specialist in thoracic surgery of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation; Grigore Tinică, cardiovascular surgeon, director of „Prof. Dr. George I. M. Georgescu” Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases from Iasi, Romania; Vladislav Brașoveanu, head of "Dan Setlacec" Liver Transplant Department of Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest.
During the three days, medical specialists will tackle topics related to surgical pathology, the news and progress in the field of surgery, as well as the new methods implemented in the management of surgical pathologies. Also, pre-congress courses will be organized, which will be held by well-known personalities - specialists in the field of surgery and endoscopy.
The specialized forum will take place from September 18 to 20 and will gather 100 guests from Germany, Romania, Ukraine, the Russian Federation and about 500 specialists from the Republic of Moldova - surgeons, endoscopists, oncologists and pediatric surgeons, resident doctors and students.
