For the 23rd time, the International Women's Club will organize the Christmas Charity Bazaar on December 8, at Moldexpo. Around 25 embassies accredited to Moldova and international organizations will participate in the event, and for the first time this year the Honorary Consulate of Spain will also participate, welcoming visitors with Spanish dishes and traditions. The accumulated donations will be distributed as grants to non-governmental organizations that implement projects for the benefit of children and women from socially vulnerable groups.
Co-president of the Club, Maria Marinuța, has told IPN that NGOs will also attend the event. Visitors of the bazaar are going to learn about their activity, and this participation constitutes an opportunity to raise funds. Moreover, folk craftsmen and economic agents will participate in the fair. Traditional food, drinks, art, clothes, books and toys will be marketed at the fair.
During the event, raffles will be organized, with tickets between 10 and 50 lei, depending on the value of the prizes. Also, visitors will enjoy a vast artistic program. The festive sound of carols will ring out.
Maria Marinuța has mentioned that this year the number of projects for which support is requested has reached 112, as compared to 45 during last year. Although there is a desire to help everyone, unfortunately there are no such financial possibilities. So far, eight projects have been selected, but the organizers hope they will be able to cover more needs.
The entrance fee to the event is of 25 lei, whereas for children, the elderly and people with disabilities admission is free. Visitors can come to the Bazaar from 10.00 until 16.00. The official opening will take place at 11.00.
